About Me
I completed my psychology degrees and the Post Graduate Certificate in Alcohol and Drug Studies at the University of Southern Queensland and am a member of The Australian Association of Psychologists Incorporated (AAPi). Before commencing private practice in 2014 I gained a depth of experience working within the disability and injury management field in the public and private sectors working with a range of complexity of issues and individuals. As I have a special interest in trauma and disability particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder I have also completed a Masters in Disability Studies at Flinders University with particular focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder and Acquired Brain Injury. Currently I work with agencies such as Queensland Ambulance Service and Open Arms and clients under the National Disability Insurance Scheme to provide counselling support.

My approach is collective, directed from a bio-psycho-social framework. I apply evidence based therapeutic approaches in my practice, including Motivational Therapy, Solution Focus Therapy, Problem Solving Therapy, Mindfulness training, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Clinical Emotional Freedom Technique, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy. I also have completed training in Dialectical BehviourTherapy. I see the psychotherapy relationship as a collaborative process between an individual and a psychologist and am committed to the highest standards of professional ethics and confidentiality.
